Delphi page

Not the place, but the compiler!  The Delphi compiler is written by Borland, so you should check their site out for details on Delphi is and does. I've been using Pascal since Turbo Pascal 2.0 and Delphi is the result of a lot of evolution since then. Personally, I find it easier to use and just as fast to develop with as Microsoft's Visual Basic. Plus it's faster at run-time as well.

There are a lot of third-party library vendors out there who sell various kinds of add-ons to Delphi: be they visual controls, report generators, charting components, database engines, Internet components, etc, etc.  I don't visit all that many web sites all that often, but you may find this selection interesting. Just to reinforce something that's been said already: the opinions expressed below are my own and have nothing to do with my employers, TurboPower Software. The order isn't particularly significant.

bulletThe Delphi Magazine is a British mag that deals with a whole bunch of tips for, tricks with, issues about, programming with, and hard to find information about Delphi. Plus, I write for it on algorithms, so it must be good <g>.
bulletWoll2Woll Software: the makers of a very successful set of data-aware components called InfoPower. I hate their magazine ads - too busy, no white space - but you've gotta admire the product: It does it all and more. The source code is impenetrable, indentation all over the place, no standard coding practices, but it works.
bulletReggatta Systems (note the double g as in the Police album): the writers of the Titan range of products.  The Titan Base Classes are licensed by TurboPower for their FlashFiler product. These products provide replacement BDE database engines for Btrieve and Access.
bulletIntegrationWare write and sell Speed Daemon, a profiler for Delphi. Unfortunately it works by modifying the source code and the parser it uses is not that great, so sometimes you have to massage your own code to get it working (just try having an $IFOPT in your code - a bug I reported a LONG time ago), but until something better comes along (and I've seen the future <g>), it's OK.
bulletTorry's Delphi Pages is the place to download freeware and shareware for Delphi. They have an extremely wide variety, unfortunately without a search engine, so finding anything is a bore. My EZDSL can be downloaded from this site.
